Rogers Park Community Development Corporation

MISSION

The mission of the Rogers Park Community Development Corporation (RPCDC) is to foster community development and create and preserve affordable and diverse housing opportunities in Rogers Park and Chicago through education, training, advocacy and development.

BACKGROUND

In 1997, the Rogers Park Community Council formed a new subsidiary corporation in order to develop economic stability in our neighborhood.  The Rogers Park Community Development Corporation was formed, a board of directors was installed, and plans were made to build a mixed income community in Rogers Park.

RPCDC became the non-profit partner in the acquisition and rehabilitation of a 57-unit building located at 1528 W. Morse.  The $7 million redevelopment project provides affordable rental housing to seniors.  RPCDC / RPCC moved into new, accessible offices in the building in September, 2000.

In 1999, a new Home Ownership Assistance Center was formed to assist families reach the "American Dream" of owning a home.   We obtained certification from HUD and developed one of the most successful educational programs in the City of Chicago!
