Background Elizabeth J. Vitell has been serving as the Executive Director of the Rogers Park Community Council and the Rogers Park Community Development Corporation since December of 2007. She returned to Rogers Park from Washington DC, where she worked for the International Justice Mission in strategic planning and outreach in connection with human rights advocacy in South America. Before moving to DC, Elizabeth had served the Rogers Park community as a Board member and officer for many years and as the representative of the City's Drug and Gang House Enforcement Section.

Personal Elizabeth was born in Ithaca, New York and grew up in the Silver Spring, Maryland area before moving to La Serena, Chile in her teens. She is a music enthusiast and enjoys practicing Bikram Yoga, spending time with her family and spoiling her Lilac Point Siamese cat.
